Will it do Raw as well as lightroom ? Thanks Joer.

Nikon does not share its codes with competitive products. I don't have Lightroom but the conversions are better than Adobe PS6.

Adobe has to reverse engineer the Nikon conversion codes which puts them at a disadvantage.

Perhaps they get it right eventually but who knows for sure.

I believe you will find that it transfers Nikon RAW/Nef and Jpeg better and more faithfully than other programs. It is almost as fast as transferring with PC Opus, but much more accurate transfer.

I believe you will find that when you install, it will take you to the Nikon site and update you to Capture NX2 which will do even better. I guess it is now free as I no longer have the 60 day limitation before buying.

PSE is superior to NX2. Don't bother installing it. (I use PSE9).

Probably true, but since this is just a hobby for me, can't justify the cost any longer. My personal preference is if I have to doctor it, I didn't do it right. Next time I will hopefully have improved. For me it is just fun and learning as I have just transitioned to Digital.

I honestly do believe, that you will find that Nikon software will give you a true representation of what the camera captured as compared to other software. They guard their code, and others are an interpretation. Something is going to get lost in the translation. Take a close look at the actual raw file sizes.

I just Cap NX2 and CS4 for printing, and Gimp and Raw Therapy for creating Tag files to open in CS4.

Almost afraid to ask this question. I was going through my Nikon box looking for a cord to my camera, Because my card reader just konked out. Found this disc I've never installed. Don't have much room left on my PC. Question, what is it and should I download it? Am I missing something? The disc Is Nikon ViewNX2

great program especially if you want to downsize a file for sending email. Time for more memory or a new computer?
