Does anyone know why? Or what will replace it? It gets such good reviews here and everywhere. I have a gm1 but need a view finder for big trip to Galapagos. Any other recommendations?
I have a GX7 and three lenses. I have no idea why it is being discontinued. It is a great camera. B&H still has them in either silver or black with a lens for $800.
I bought mine so I could also buy the Panasonic 100-300 lens for wildlife. I would love to take them to the Galapagos!
If it were me, and I knew the GM1 menu system, I would buy the GX7 before I bought into the Olympus, or any other, brand.
That's great. Thank you. I can't say that I'm great at the menu system, but better than anything else. I have the 14-140. I might try to rent the 100-300.
Will eventually post some pix.

I just bought my second three weeks ago: my first got damaged beyond repair.
I bought it thru Amazon. Had the silver & black but now have all black. Love it and have been using it for a year now. Even had a photo enlarged to 20 x 30 and put on canvas. I use it more often than my Canon 6D which I will never give up!
But the GX7 is so easy when out and about and I carry it and 3 lens in a little 3 lb bag with shoulder strap.

The GX-7 was discontinued back in January. I got the last silver one available from Panasonic Canada on 27 January. There are still some available at dealers in silver and black. I have the 20mm f1.7 and the 12-35 f2.8 and love the system. I may well add a GH-4 and some more lenses and switch to micro 4/3 completely in the next few years.
I only read good things so I'm puzzled that it's discontinued. I ordered thru Amazon but it comes from adorama. bandhphoto no longer has it.
Planning to love it! What lenses do you carry? Which do you use most ?
Which did you use for the 20x30 print ?
Thanks!
Debbie.

Oh. And I love love love your photos. The flowers are gorgeous! And the canyon, spectacular. When did you go to Iceland? What time of year?
Thanks again.

Now I'm really confused. bandhphoto now has them in stock in black. Only the silver are unavailable.

Thanks. All of the pictures you saw were taken with Nikon cameras. The Iceland pics were taken in June/July, 2011.

I expect there are still some at dealers and wholesalers. Panasonic USA may still have some in stock, but no more are being made. The GX-7 may have been discontinued because of the lack of weatherproofing and a weatherproof version may be coming. Frankly that's the only negative thing I can see about the GX-7.

Lens that I have: 14-42 that came with the original body,Olympus 25mm 1.8 Prime, Olympus 75mm 1.8 Prime,
Lumix 45-200. I love them all!
BTW, can anyone tell me how to get my hands on the comprehensive GX7 PDF Manual?
