I have a Minolta Maxxum 7000 35mm Film camera and 4 lenses. The camera is either manual settings or auto focus.
I have some photos I took with the camera and the lenses work perfectly both outside and inside!
AF lens 28 (1:28)
AF lens 50
AF lens 70-210 (210 labeled Macro)
AF lens 100-200
AF 2800 Flash Unit
Plus 6 various filers 49mm & 55mm
55mm close up +1,+2, +4
Owners manual for the camera, flash unit and lenses.
And a leather Sony Camera Bag, really nice too!
(I see that I did not take a photo of the bag but I will if you want). Also, all four of the lenses will not fit in the bag together, 3 will fit comfortably.

Make me an offer if you would.

camera, Lens & various filters, etc.

Forget the camera and accessories... focus on the AF lenses... From 1985 on they snap right into modern Sony Alpha Cameras and work like a charm... do correct me if I am wrong... mine was a 7000i and those lenses work fine with my Sony a 320 camera.

The old Minolta lenses were excellent glass.

SqBear: My advice is don't sell... get a Sony Alpha body... and you will have a wonderful stable of lenses for all occasions.

PS: the Macro only means it focuses close.. not a true Macro.

I use the Minolta 100-300 lens from my Maxxum 7000i camera almost every day. It is a very good lens and works perfect on my Sony SLT-a65V.

SqBear,

THe lens we got are an excellent "core" set of lens, keep them and get a Sony A-mount or E-mount (with adapter) body. I'm using lens that started out on my Minolta film bodies (9000, 9, 700si), then moved to my Sony A200, A850 and now my Sony Nex-6 and 7. And will be used on the A9 when it finally hits the streets. Trust me you can't go wrong.

Wow dpullun !
I did not realize this. I certainly will check into this at my local dealer. The biggest lens I have is the 18-105 for the Nikon. I was impressed with the lenses that I took the 35mm film with.
This is certainly great advise and I will do much follow-up based on your response and others here too.
Thanks again for your knowledge and suggestions, it is a great help!

Richard, thanks for the reply on the Minolta set up using a Sony body.
As I told others I had no idea that this would work with other cameras!

I will be doing much research on all of the responses!
Thanks again Richard Spencer!

dfharper1961, Thank you for your encouragement. I will certainly look into your suggestion. As I've said, I had no idea that I could use Minolta lenses with a diferent camera and I really do like the Sony products too.
Thanks again for the ideas/suggestion!

dpullum, I have a fellow UHH her that said they could be worth more... Oh, that was you! I cannot say thanks to you and all of the others giving me the same advise about looking into a Sony body to use the lenses with.

Gotta go now, have research to do!
Thanks again!

Thanks for the offer cucharared, I will keep this on my list.
But in all honesty, from the advise I am getting from several others here in UHH, I need to do some research.
I will however keep you in mind!
Thanks again for the offer.

dpullum, I'm heading that direction. I have to go into Wichita today and will stop by a well know old timers camera shop and discuss this and see if he has a Sony body to try out these suggestions.
Thanks again.
Dave
One question tho... you and others talk about the lenses, what to do about the Minolta body?

lloyd2, thanks for the information and yes, I too experienced the AF and shutter noise when I took the test photos.
Certainly can sneak up on your target but once the shutter is fired...goodness, you can scare it away!

Thanks again
