After months of saving and researching today I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new lens. I got the canon24-105L and can't wait for it to arrive, should be here tomorrow which is a good thing because I think waiting any longer would kill me :) If you have this lens please post some pics or comments on it. That will keep me busy while I'm waiting LOL. Thanks
Jeff

That's the "Kit" lens that came with my Canon 5D Mark II. It's a beaut!!! Sharp as a tack, easy to use. You'll love it! A great everyday lens too.

Hi Bricktop,

You will be well rewarded for you saving discipline. I have had the 24-105 for over 3 years and it is by far my favorite among many. Rarely do I take it off for another. It is the most appreciated lens I have had, ever.

Hope your experience is as good as mine. Congratulation to you.

Good luck with the lens! Wow great pics!!! I just bought the 24-70 2.8 Llast week. Now I wonder if I should have gone with the 24-105. Went with the 24-70 for the lower F stop. Might need to add another toy to my wish list... :)

With the camera bodies available today 1 stop in a lens means very little. I got rid or my heavy 70-200 f2.8L and bought the f4L. I weighs half as much and the image quality is as good as or better. Happy happy happy. Just kick the ISO up 1 and you never will know the difference. I am picky on image quality. It is my #1 priority in a lens. The 24-105 is my most used lens. Personally, and I know many would disagree, I would never trade the 1 stop for the 35mm difference in focal length. The 1 stop is much easier to overcome in my mind than 35mm of compositional flexibility. Don't bother to contest me on this. Not trying to start a debate. Just stating my view.
