I use a Think Tank case made for large telephoto lenses to carry my Sigma 150-500 zoom.

For the amount of money that one would need to spend to acquire either of these lens, I doubt any one would be disappointed on the strength of both these hand held shots as any difference in quality is minimal but both are exceptional for the price. I happen to have the Tammy because it was available whereas the Sigma is not yet in any volume in the UK. Will you do a comparison between the Sigma C, the Sigma S and the Tammy, when you can MT ?
Very disappointing that Tamron don't supply a Sigma type case for the Tammy 150-600. Two weeks ago I was talking with the Chief Exec of the sole importers of Tamron in the UK (Intro 2020) at the National Photography show at the National Exhibition Centre Near Birmingham, UK. When asked on the subject of a protective lens case for the Tamron 150-600, he stated there will be one available in the UK in about a month to six weeks time. and he was hoping Tamron would produce one with and for the Tamron 150-600, but he could not answer about the USA, but he did say the lens was selling like hot cakes.

this is good news as saving my pennies for this lens

Do a search on Amazon for "APE CASES" bought one that fits the Tammy 150-600 even without reversing the hood. Nice padding and can be worn on your belt or with the carrying strap. Well made and inexpensive. Hope this helps.

I'm looking for something that I can attach to my camera bag. it's a Think Tank with a waist pack that pivots. I'd like to be able to carry my large lens attached to "rails" on the waist pack. May see if I can sew a strip of webbing onto the lens case so I can run the strap of the waist pack through it. If not, I'll see if I can make something with a draw string, padding and a strap for attaching to my waist pack.
The Sigma lenses all come with their own custom padded cases, so you don't need to buy aftermarket cases like Tamron makes you have to.[/quote

Your response is irrelevant.

I just got my Tamron 150-600mm lens and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a case for the lens. Looking for something to store it in at home as well as potentially carry it to different locations where it would be used. Thanks for any advice! OBTW, after about a half a day and 50 or so shutter clicks, I love it!

My husband just got the Tamron 150-500mm and he purchased the Think Tank Holster you need the largest one which Is the Digital Holster 50 it can be unzipped at the end so the lens fits perfectly into it with the hood and camera both attached. I have the Canon 100-400mm and had the Holster and loved it for my camera with the lens attached including the hood so he tried it and it worked great so he purchased his own. The zipper at the end to adjust it down is also great because you can carry the camera with smaller lenses. Think Tank makes the best cases in my opinion......I also have the airport series for traveling and it is great.

Certainly after hand holding that hefty lens for awhile I am sure he will be checking into them.
BTW, I just posted some comparison pics of the Tamron vs. the Sigma "C" lens, if you are interested.

Showing my ignorance (nothing new there), but where do I go to see MT's post of the comparison?

MT, I would also ask if you will do a fuller comparison of the two Sigma's and the Tamron equivalent 150-600's?

I have the Ape Case that I got from Amazon. It fits the Tamron 150-600 complete with the tripod collar installed and the lens hood reversed. But I am not sure what you mean by "only dedicated lens case that fits the Tamron complete".

The Lowepro Lens Case #5 is the only dedicated lens case that I have found that fits the Tamron complete, meaning with the tripod collar installed and the lens hood reversed. There are others that fit it without the lens hood or collar.

I purchased the Tamron 150-600mm lens and the Lowepro #5 case from Amazon at the same time. I received the lens in less than a week, but because the case was shipped from Japan, it took almost 6 weeks to receive it. Like MT Shooter says, the hood and the tripod collar fits perfectly inside. Very happy with my purchases.

While the padded case for the Nest Gimbal head does indeed make a very nice case for the Tamron 150-600mm lens, it is unfortunately not available to purchase separately and is only available for free with the Nest Gimbal head.
But with over 600 of the Nest heads sold to date, there are probably a few owners out there that are not using their case and some may be available. Anyone???

Since the Nest stays on my tripod full time I have a case...If the OP would send me his address and postage I will give it to him.

Since "Ape case" is a company and not a product, its impossible to find out what the product is since no one has ever posted a product name or number for it.
