Nikon P7800 for $200 at Best Buy

Well my son and his girlfriend were over on Sunday. She will be graduating from grad school next month and is taking a trip to Europe with her sister. She wanted a small camera to take with her and always liked my P7800 and wanted her parents to get her one for a graduation gift,

I stopped into Best Buy in Manchester on my lunch yesterday and going thru the camera department as I usually do there they had two brand new in the box Nikon P7800 marked $200.

Asked the sales associate were they returns, open box etc? Nope they were told to blow them out in anticipation of the P900 coming in. Texted my son told him that I would pick it up, got back to me after he spoke with his girlfriend and said go for it,

Six months ago I paid $549, she gets one for $200! Sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time (-;

That is definitely a good deal. As you said, right place and right time.

That's a great buy, you might say a best buy. I paid $549 last year. I think the salesperson was referring to the P9000 which is a new high end compact expected soon. The P900 is a bridge camera that was released recently.

B&H offered 125$ for trade in of P520 towards P900.

Sounds good. That's in the neighborhood of ebay prices.

Like other compacts, it has a smallish sensor, but otherwise, good specs.

I own one and love it. The sensor is a bit larger than point and shoot cameras. I still.carry it with me in the car. I would have bought both in a heart beat.

You could always give her your camera and keep the $200 one for yourself. That way, YOU get the better deal!

:D
