canon 100-400mmL ISII usm lens vs Tamron 150-600mm lense

I have the Tamron 150-600mm and traded in my Nikon 28-300mm for it.

If the Tammy is a little heavy for you to hand hold for the convenience use a monopod, just to take away that front end weight. Less lugging around than a tripod
