Anyone from Seattle that can tell me how safe is it to walk around at night near the space needle and king street station.?

When I lived there it was very safe. That was a long time ago but there's usually plenty of people around in the evening because of the needle so that I would think would be pretty safe. Midnight and beyond, that might be a question.
