Im going to Vegas April 30 until May 4. for some great photography. Because of a professional fight that weekend the hotels have raised there prices to over 300. and way up a night. Need suggestions where to stay in and or around the Vegas area that not so high.

About a million other people are asking the same question. I've seen situations like that before. If cheap accommodations were available, they would have been taken long ago. Let us know if you luck out and find some place. Your best bet would be a UHH member who lives there.

If you like to camp there is a wonderful state park about a 1 hour drive to the east of LV.

Suggest trying town of Henderson, about 25-30 minute drive to Vegas. Not sure how the fight will affect their rates, but guessing they will raise them also.

If the rates in Vegas are that high you can expect the rates at every place within driving distance will the two to three times normal. Why not postpone your trip? At most times of the year if you are in the vicinity of Vegas on Thursday listen to the radio. Many of the hotels advertise bargain low rates for the coming weekend.

I did a quick search for you and found ARIZONA CHARLIE'S BOULDER
4575 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, NV, 89121 which apparently according to the written details is 10 minutes from downtown Las Vegas. Standard room for the dates you gave is $132 per night with a delux suite going for $137 per night. You could also try Pahrump, and you could photograph Red Rock in between if you took the route through it. I am in Beatty, about 100 miles from Las Vegas near Death Valley.

Have you looked at Silver Sevens on Paradise?
Not sure of their rates right now but they are generally a fraction of the strip hotels and only a couple of blocks from the strip. Also there are the Stations Casinos all around at farther distances.
