If the strap hurts your neck, get it off your neck. (That was too easy.) Look at the hundreds of options that put the strap over your shoulder and across your chest.

Indeed. Look at the Optech sling strap. ;)

I would like a strap better than the one I have..the camera hangs down & hurts the neck. there is a strap out there that is easier..ideas?
Thanks everyone!

I use the Black Rapid line of straps. I am shooting with my Nikon D 4S and the 80-400 MM lens. I have no problems whit it as this strap goes over the shoulder, crosses over your chest and camera & lens hangs by your shooting hand. (Specify right or left hand shooting).

Check out Bos-strap from B&H. At all costs, do not attach any strap to the tripod mount. The camera is not meant to hang from that!

I've got five different OP-TEC straps and I love them. They even comfortably support my Bronica GS-1.

I am late to this blog but I just had an opportunity to try out a black rapid sport strap while touring today in Prague Czech Republic.I was out walking all day with my Canon 60d with an 18 to 250 lens and found that it hung by my side almost weightless at least relatively to my former Canon strap.it was very easy to use and I found that when I put the clasp down to the bottom it did not swing at all while walking. Whether it is better than the optech strap or not is arguable but this one was excellent, albeit more expensive.
