If you ever want to get a decent picture through an airplane window like the two. push the lens flat against the glass, that way you don't get any outside reflections.

Hi Mike,
Another hint for shooting through a window is to have a soft collapsible lens hood on your lens (like rubber) that you can easily place against the glass. It even allows you to angle the camera slightly.

That's good advise for a turbine engine plane Mike, but piston engine planes vibrate too much and it will be transmitted through to the camera if you press it against any part of the plane. I prefer to open the window, but not all models will allow this.

Beautiful sharp photos you've got there, I love'em.

The comment about vibration that follows my comment about using a soft collapsible lens hood against the glass reminded me that the soft hood also helps neutralize vibrations.

Thank Ron, I had some window seats where the window looked like my car after an Alaska highway trip.

Thank you very much, I used the rubber hoods in the old days but nowadays all is metal.

Thank you very much, there I am sure that the vibration is too much, I think there the human body has to absorb that, like on a ship.
