took me five years to even think about another...then I rescued a crazy dog...who is less and less crazy all the time...maybe you need a rescue dog to rescue you!

How fun! I had a rescued Rhodesian Ridgeback I named Fred - kids wanted to name him Ralph but I refused, couldn't see myself standing on the back deck yelling 'Ralph! Ralph!' :) Rescued from the street where he was about dead I had him for almost 9 years before he passed away in my arms. Great dog but boy did he look fierce when his ridge stood up ... and he didn't growl, he rumbled from deep in his chest. Sure miss him.
