Anyone in UHH land who knows what this photograph is of? What country? Do I have the slide backwards? Circa 1970's. I found this in a box of slides I bought at a garage sale for $3.00

It's a rare photo of my ex-mother-in-law about to mount her broom, take off and wreak havoc on the universe again!P.S. Why would you want to copyright someone else's photo?

Ha!
Copyright? I bought it. I may use this for a clip art/vintage photograph/odd things collection I sell images from on line.

OK, I understand, and I'm of the old school, anywhere you can make a legit buck is a good thing.
Just because you "bought" it in a box of stuff doesn't give you the copyright license.

I'm 99.9% sure it is Chinese. The dragon, style of the boat and writing on the side of the boat are very Chinese. I'd try to find someone who knows Chinese to see if they can make out the writing.

Could be from the year of the water dragon sometime in the early 1950s in China?

I had one person who saw this on another of my sites suggest that it's either a floating billboard - one of the Chinese characters that are viable may mean "tourist." Also she suggested that it may be used for a festival - so this gives support that maybe it was used during the "Year of the Dragon."
Great Ideas. Keep them coming.
