Canon 70D, 100mm tube, Nikon 20x microscope objective.
nice , but I'd like to be able to see more of it
I get it! An in-your-(fly)face micro. Well done. I recommend viewing the enlargement.
Any stacking, or single exposure?
What is your illumination?
Awesome. Download has to be seen!
Download a must!
The flies sure look bigger in NZ than they are here in the USA.
;-)
Thank you all for looking/commenting.
150 exposure stack. I had trouble with exposure (as always).
@ Tom: I remember making a rough calculation, and figuring it was somewhere in the range of 12:1, so it must have included some extension tube between the camera and the 100mm tube lens.
In this specific instance I opted for mag, rather than field of view. I did crop out laterally, as the stack probably required 30% more than it got, which unfortunately left the posterior perimeter of the eyes unsharp.

Two Yongnou 560s, Bilaterally placed, slightly anterior to the fly (approx 25 degrees), diffused through tracing paper.
Wow! really nice colors not always seen in some high mag shots. Nice and clean too.
Yes, Very Clean Stack, Nicely Done.....
Not to be too repetitious but Wow, nice detail on the eye lenses..
