Takes you back, I remember visiting New York City and going in a place in Times Square and actually making one of those Voice-A-Graph recordings in 1959. Wish I could find it now.

I once had an aluminium disk from one of those machines, it had to be played with a wooden needle

Awesome looking 51 Ford. It took 4.5 years to rebuild the car, don't think I have that kinda patience.

In college my roommate had the same car. Well anyway the same model. It was given to him in lieu of some work he had done. While I was driving it one day a semi side swiped me. The drive stopped I told not to worry another dent was meaningless.lol

I had 2 1950 fords and 1 1951 Crestliner (in same color as the attached) All great cars and the Crestliner was pretty Rare. Note that this particular model had a "Factory Vynal Top"

When I was growing up the family had a Pontiac. Not sure of the year but I'm pretty sure it was a 51 or 52. The car was built like a tank. I think the front fender weighed as much as most cars made now. I was surprised to see that the Ford you owned had vinyl top. Didn't think that came along till much later.

We had a '53 Packard Clipper, we used to come to CA from NYC, and which i learned to drive. What a tank that car was.

Great, great film, put a big smile on my face.
However, that is not the Five Satins version of the song, simply a mediocre cover of a great song.

I know but the memory is still so strong. Still love that old doo opp sound, So many great song from that era. Most kids today just don't know what a great song sounds like.If you like the music of the time you just might like the Kenny Vance "Looking For AN Echo" It will bring back the same memories. You can look it up oin U-Tube

I have read a lot about that particular Model, but have never found any explanation as to why it was vynal instead of paint..... Unless it has moved there is one of these cars in the Duesenberg/Cord/Auburn Museum in Auburn, Indiana.....

Fifty years from now someone will be showing clips of the San Francisco Giants, CDs, cassette tapes, iphones, cars without hands free auto guide, TVs with silly little 50" screens, news papers that are no longer published, books that have to be read on paper, etc. All set to the music of Jimmy Buffet --- Margaritaville.

Jerry thanks for posting this. I was 3 in 1950, but I remember the 50's well. As has been already said, it was a much simpler time.
