This morning's snow flakes

D7000, 105mm, 68mm of extension tubes, SB28 @ 1/4 power.

50% crop on these two. I was hoping it would be a little colder so that the flakes were nicer looking.

Wow!!! You are getting good at this snowflake photography. Well done.
I have been wanting to try it but with the temps in the 70's every day I don't seem to get the opportunity.

Thanks! I've been doing some reading on the different types of snow flakes so it was nice to get a few keepers first thing in the morning.

Beautiful work, found thsis on UGLY and had snowflakes on my bucket list for a while now, tips on a backround material?
I have the gear but would appreciate any setup help I can get. JIM

10 x20 piece of foam with black felt. I think this was from a piece of packing for some electronic gear. Put it in the freezer for 20 minutes. D7000, 105mm lens, 68mm extension tubes, off camera flash at 1/4 power. Take a bunch of shots!
