Several years ago I saw a great shot of all the Great Lakes frozen over. Michigan is getting hit hard. My hometown, Pontiac has already had a low of -14 and is scheduled to have a low of -10 Sunday night. It was never that cold when I lived there.

I'm sure this can be turned around. Caused by global warming lol

I doubt if they will be using this image in the global warming summit.

I have already heard people say that this weather is caused by global warming. Go figure.

And I'll bet that's one of the reasons that you don't live there now.

You have to understand. If it is cold it is global warming, if it's hot- global warming. Drought-global warming. Flood-global warming. Sea level rising- global warming. Sea level dropping-global warming. In the geological history of the Earth- all climate changes were caused by global warming. Even Ice ages were caused by global warming. Everything. Even Farting is caused by global warming.

Of course, climate change would be more accurate but accuracy is the furthest thing the alarmists have in mind for your government or pocketbook. We all know the climate is and has always changed but "they" would have you believe we, homo sap, have sped up the process so much with our miniscule amounts of carbon dioxide that only “their” draconian measures can save the planet. If you check the numbers politicians are proposing, western nations would have to regress back to pre-colonial times while giving a pass to third-world nations so they could "catch up". This amounts to greenie insanity on a global scale where the asylum is truly being run by the inmates.

The gradual shift from environmentalist to warmest/alarmist combined with the confusion of man-made pollution with naturally produced (volcanic) pollution and weather with climate has so muddied the waters that it’s become easy for born-again snake oil salesmen to sway the gullible. After all, we all want to be environmentally friendly, don’t we? Unfortunately, it’s not easy to distinguish the scientifically knowledgeable from the glibly opinionated. Just in the last 200 years our beloved populist experts have assured us that man would never fly, never break the “sound barrier”, never reach space or at least never make it to the moon.

Experts also warned us about the coming ice age that morphed into global warming that is now climate change. I suspect some of the same greenies (or their students) were responsible for the deaths of millions with their DDT and ozone layer hole scams. Better keep your flood insurance up to date as they also favor hydroelectric and flood control dam deconstructions so the smelt and salmon can migrate.

We all remember the “millennium” disaster, don’t we? That same muddled “thinking” brought us the Solyndra photo cell scandal and is still at work perpetuating the unsustainable wind mill bird and bat killing “farms” fostered on the gullible to this day. They seem to operate like gypsies, convincing fools to fund and build huge wind farms along migration routes that ultimately cost too much to maintain and when they fail just move on to the next state or country and do it over again. Ain’t progress wonderful?

It's unfortunate people read the words Global Warming, stop there and assume what it means.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming
"Global warming and climate change can both refer to the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system and its related effects, although climate change can also refer to any historic change in climate. ..."

"Future climate change and associated impacts will vary from region to region around the globe.[12][13] The effects of an increase in global temperature include a rise in sea levels and a change in the amount and pattern of precipitation, as well as a probable expansion of subtropical deserts.[14] Warming is expected to be strongest in the Arctic, with the continuing retreat of glaciers, permafrost and sea ice. Other likely effects of the warming include more frequent extreme weather events including heat waves, droughts, heavy rainfall, and heavy snowfall;[15] ocean acidification; and species extinctions due to shifting temperature regimes. Effects significant to humans include the threat to food security from decreasing crop yields and the loss of habitat from inundation.[16][17]"

OMG, snowing in the winter? What's next, raining in the spring, 95 degrees in the summer? OMG, OMG!
THE END IS NEAR!

It's not the snow, it's the incredible cold. My hometown of Pontiac never had -14 when I was growing up. I don't think we ever got to 0. Tonight they'll be having -10 again.

I'm not a scientist so I can't speak one way or another. I did see a documentary, however, that discussed how global warming and rising oceans would affect the flow of warm ocean currents that go from the equator northward in the Atlantic. If this flow of warm water is slowed, it will bring harsh winters to Britain and Europe. I have forgotten if it would affect the U.S. northeast or not. I've also forgotten what this current is called. If somebody knows, help me out.
