This sequence was shot last summer behind home plate at Sacramento's Raley Field with a Canon SLR1 and 70-300 4-5.6 lens.
Have awhile to wait here in Pittsburgh but I'm guessing your season gets in swing earlier than ours. ;)
Yes, unfortunately since we're in the middle of a bad drought, but we've had a couple of 75-degree days this month
I love #2 for the position you caught both the batter and framed the pitcher. I can hear the crack (oh, unless he missed, lol) and the ahhhh's of the crowd!

Love both photos. In #1, one can see those muscles at-the-ready, the creases in the pants, the tenseness of the ump, and that ball smack before the hitter - what a great shot!!! In #2, love that bat right over the pitcher's head. What great timing in both photos!!! I like the close crop. I like that you don't see the faces but can feel the action.
Thanks for your comments. And the hitter, Nate Freiman, was up and down with the A's during 2014 and saw a lot of playing time in the majors. The San Francisco Giants will be Sacramento's parent club this season.
