Daniel in the Irving TX group on Flickr posted a shot called 'Breathe' that was the inspiration for this. I used a 100+ year old oak tree at the Sowers Cemetery in Irving for the source material.
Interesting composition. It looks as though you were looking down on the tree?
Just an effect of the mirroring process. The Great Grandpaw Post Oak I used for the source material Had a 3'+ trunk and a canopy (even this time of year) that probably exceeded 80'!
Thanks! I used a 'mirroring' process. I flipped the original image horizontally and merged it with the 1st one. I then took that image and flipped it vertically and merged the two. Once I had a combined image I just played around with a few filters (I use GIMP 2.8) until I got something I liked....

Ironically, it does resemble lungs. Very interesting shot and composition.
Thanks... Your comments are appreciated. A very appropriate comment as this shot by Daniel Livas was my inspiration. Here's a link to his Flickr photostream.... https://www.flickr.com/photos/daniel_livas/
