2 good pics and, normally, I'd prefer the B&W. In this case the color shows more character and age for the machine.

COLOR!! John Deere is noted for its green color. I knew it was a John Deere when I first saw it. The B&W is just another old tractor somebody has abandoned.

B&W for me because it better represents the fact that the old boy is used up.

Nice photo, by the way.
John, let me pick at you for a moment. From what you said, I would disagree in that one can see the rust colors and the fading much better in the color version. What do you think?

I like both of them. If it's old and rusty, I'll normally shot B&W. With this one, I like the color a bit better, but it's a close call.

I have to agree. My father worked on John Deere tractors (very) many years ago - the green holds a strong memory.

Color for me. One UHH'r thought it to be a model B but it is actually a model H. Location of the steering wheel and it's front rims indicate it being an H. Apparently some one added the yellow stripe might have added some class to it but didn't. The yellow stripe on the side of the hood was added when they came out with the "20" series in the mid 50's which I believe was 1956. Yes color for me because it does show better detail and 2, I see in color. I've had John Deere during my farming days, but I had switched to Massey Ferguson. Good shot. Thanks for sharing.
