This was interesting:
Every two minutes, we take as many photos as all of humanity took during the 1800s.

It’s estimated that in 2014, humans will take 880 billion photos (not including cats). In fact, 10% of all the photos ever taken were taken in the past 12 months.

I wonder if those statistics include the many images made by weather and spy satellites on a continuous basis.

Does anyone really know?
Does everyone still get email invites for this site when a new subject comes up? Some reason I don't get them anymore

Check your profile and settings.
Then check your computer and see if it is blocking the emails.
You might also have accidentally blocked cookies from UHH.

I get a TON of emails from UHH about posts here!

If you include cats, the total increases by a factor of five. I'm speaking from personal experience here.

I know a wedding "shoot and burner" that is responsible for half of the total images taken by mankind in 2014.

Makes sense....just remember the billions of smart phones being carried. I hate that they take such great pictures (considering what they are). Won't replace a DSLR or other "real" camera anytime soon, though.

Well, it was a poll taken by dogs. That is why the cats were not included.

Just a guess really.

I don't know. I don't think his pictures were counted. He looks like a cat guy!
