Sorry to hear about your camera, but I'm happy you weren't to banged up.
Thank you MWAC and everyone else for your concern. Yeah, I am still pretty sore and I feel pretty stupid. To ad insult to injury, my cat was laying on my chest today and my 2 year old grandson decided to grab it. The cat took off but not before leaving a big ol' scratch on my belly from her claws. Sometimes I just can't win for losing. LOL. Oh, that hurt. LOL. Oh, that hurt again.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Falls can take a long time to feel good again. Hope you and your camera heal swiftly and completely!

What is most important is that you are okay. All that other stuff can be replaced. It is hard at times. I fell and messed up my 70-200 II about 3 weeks ago. Cost 691.00 to have canon fix and calibrate it. Then just last monday it fell and messed up the mounting ring. There went another 350.00. Had insurance for the first accident but, did not want to claim the second so soon.

You only hear from those who bought the extended warranties and collected on them, never a word from someone who never had a claim. To me it's a gamble with odds way in favor of the company selling the policy. Personally, I don't gamble on anything, much less something with such odds against me.

I too used to take a camera into the bedroom, but that was in my younger, wilder days.

There is also a ratio involved here. It has to do with how much money you can not afford to spend vs. the products intended use. For example: Several years ago I bout a snow blower because of mu long, large driveway. I spent the most I could afford to. It worked. For 3 seasons I never had to use it. Money well spent.

Gee....15 steps is a whole lot of bumping. Glad you are okay and none worse for the wear. Nice to hear Sony is there for you as well.

Anyone know if Nikon has a similar thing going?
