I was screwing around with my 300mm zoom and a bounce flash while nice and cozy, drinking coffee in my dining room. It was heavy overcast just beginning to snow. when A female cardinal lited on my bird feeder. Can anyone say "overkill"?

Nope, not over kill at all. More light is better, whether natural or artificial. You got great detail as well as killer shallow depth of field...capitalize on it! I like # 3, because she needs a napkin ;)
