He is a United States Marine. Why all the commotion? You act as if this would not be an everyday occurrence for any Marine.

Great video by the way. It shows USMC skills firsthand.

Skills shmills! He cut the power too much, and he cut the power
when the aircraft was too high.

From the video it doesn't seem like he did anything wrong at all. He was supposed to put the nose of the aircraft on the, "stool", and he did exactly that; a perfect landing under the circumstances.

No. The rate of descent was too high. He was overwhelmed
by the situation and stuffed up.

Whatever. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree but I am not sure about what. He had a problem with the front landing gear and landed precisely where he was supposed to land. Now if you are a jet pilot (I am not a pilot) and insist on saying he did something wrong just because of some minor quibble on the part of the pilot then have at it. I am done quibbling.

I thought the descent was too fast. Maybe a little more control of the thrust would have been better.

But ----- He is a skilled Marine Pilot.

I reckon he's an exspurt pilot.

Ex as in, has been, and spurt...
as in, drip under pressure.

If you are such a great pilot why not change places with him and let's all see how well you do in that situation. Apparently you are the expert Harrier pilot!

He did a very good job of landing that piece of dog poo on that stool saved the airframe.... You have to remember that is a flight deck and it moves..... and if you think you can do it any better without practicing that maneuver.

That would be my point, sr71, that flight deck moves up and down quite a bit, even in calm weather.

I am wondering where you have been to get the T shirt. Were you the Harrier pilot, on the container ship, saw the video on You Tube, what? I mean no offense but your post leaves me and maybe others to wonder what you are talking about.
