Very nice Scooter! Does bring back some good memories. Remember hang out with the guys just like that. We didn't get to lay around to long though, and I am sure your Dad didn't either. Also we only got the dirt to rest on :-D He was spoiled! Let me know if you get a chance to post more. Love them.
Semper Fi!!

Very nice historical photo. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your service.
Slept on a grave 1st night there(high ground) 1st day of monsoon. Also leaning against a tree to keep rocks from hitting you that someone would dislodge accidentally while they slept above you on the mountain. Mostly dirt and mud.

How did you like haven your socks on your shoulders to dry? And fighting to get a new pair! Life was good if you could get them!

It is very hard to tell what went on over there. Very bad stuff at the end. I have not talked with my boys to much either. And when we got home, the greetings we got were even worse. Hard to get over the country you are fighting for when they do not support you when you return.! And most of us were way to young.

cool shot, lots of history. that's not a Huey, though... those were mostly army and Marine helos, and seldom operated from ships. the one on the boat looks like it might be an old Sikorsky H-34...

That was a bad one! Lots of good men didn't come home. I missed that one. Landed the next year. But we all talked about it. Very sad times. Glad your Dad made it through the hell hole!
