Here I was, just the other day bragging about how the squirrels do not climb up my bird feeder. And now this!

I even banged on the window to scare him off. He didn't care.

Haa. You can bet he will be back now that he's knows
it's there. You seed bill just went up 200%

Go to Amazon and look up the Brome Squirrel Buster Plus, there's a few different models. It worked great for me and I had 3 very industrious and previously well feed squirrels trying to get into the feed inside. It just closes down based on their weight and very soon they just give up. Now I have 3 very thin squirrels, but the birds are all happy and plump. Next we work on the deer and the bears.
Thanks for the tip. I think I am going to go with the baffle for now. Maybe I can do a Rube Goldberg thing. That would be fun!

LOL...I've seen a lot of alleged squirrel-proof feeders, but never one yet that has been able to stand up against a truly determined squirrel. Nice 'evidence' photo.
Thanks! I wonder if my mole pellets will do the trick?

And they are called dumb animals! But they do make for some humorous photography.

I think a step up transformer @ about 240 volts @ 15 amps for the first couple of feet ought to do it.

As others have mentioned, I have found my dog is a good protector against squirrels -- besides Rodney, the Doberman, also provides some good photo ops when no birds are around.

I bet that critter in your avatar would take care of the squirrels as well

That's why I suggested that tainkc get out his video camera.

Rube Goldberg contraption sounds great, but instead of just merely catching him at the end, it would be great to see him get launched... perhaps a county or two away

The greased pole idea, that quite a few suggested, works fine if don't mind re-greasing it quite often in the summer... I tried that idea first.

I built a wooden frame around the pole below the feeder and then screwed in MANY 3 inch dry wall screws into the wood all the way around so that the squirrels can't climb over the wooden frame work without being poked by the screws ( something like a upside down pin cushion ) It also works to keep deer from eat off a bird seed tray as it pokes them good and they will give up trying to eat from your feeders. You have to have the screws close enough together so the squirrels can't crawl thru them, if they are too far apart the squirrels will use the screws as a ladder to crawl up to the feeder.

The only way that I have found to beat them is to tie a wire high in a tree and low onto another tree. They can't tight rope the wire this way|| But it has to be high enough that they can't jump up to it.
