The Amazon deal looks legitimate. Adorama has the same price.

Amazon's price is most likely for a greymarket lens.

No. It is a Nikon promo - you can get the same price from Hunt's, Samy's, B and H and Adorama and other reputable retailers - Nikon is offering a $400 instant rebate for getting the bundle.

And B and H sweetens the deal with a few extras as well.

Why would you assume it's gray market?

Ships from and sold by Amazon with USA Warranty. I would not think Amazon would deal in the gray market?

There are multiple ways to buy on Amazon. There is direct sales from Amazon and an affiliation with B&H as well as outside vendors who may have lower pricing, but anything from outside of the Amazon/B&H Sphere or authorized affiliates can be suspicious, especially when buying cameras and electronics.

As someone said earlier, it's "BUYER BEWARE".

Was checking into a Nikon 7100 and discovered this: New from Amazon with a 18-140 Zoom lens is priced at $1296.95. I jumped over to Nikon's website to check prices on a refurb 7100 and with the same lens it was priced at $1799.95. One of the problems I have always found with camera equipment has always been the wide and varible price range. Can't help but feel sympathy for someone buying their first camera. Let the Buyer Beware is so true with everything.

Go to B&B, Adorama or Unique Photo. that is the real price and those sites will always be within 50-100 of each other. Use them to gage if you are being rail roaded or not.

If you look at the Available from other sellers, you'll see that this a standard price at 11 places including Adorama and Samy's. As for the Nikon refurbished price at Nikon, as stated above, may be a mistake or as I have seen in the past, the manufacturers are a lot more proud of their products than the stores that sell them. I think this is an safe purchase. Looks like Nikon has a sale going on with a this bundle (Amazon is showing several Product promotions on this item further down, below the description).

Amazon is an authorized Nikon reseller. Not saying that means it is above reproach. I doubt your assumption is based on any clear facts.
