What is your position on term limits?
There is no need to site facts, just state your opinion and if somebody disagrees with you just go ahead and call them all kinds of nasty names. Chances are this thread will deteriorate into a discussion on evolution anyway... lol
For.
Actually the thread will deteriorate to a fact thrashing about global warming, the topic du jour. LOLOLOL !
Yeah, right, these a-holes are going to put themselves out of a job.
Problem is,we're supporting the same type of group on the State level.
Term Limits Please. The air in the government buildings is sucking their brains out.

Against. The people have the ability to limit terms already, and why deprive them of their choice?

Do I have to disagree with someone to call them a nasty name?

That's worked out well.
Apparently it has, for the people who voted for them. If you don't like your rep, vote him out. If you're outvoted, live with it or move. What's the problem that term limits is the solution to?
For one,it's very difficult to unseat an incumbent who is endorsed by the party machine. Very often there are no primaries.
Probably the main reason is the stupidity or lack of voting by many voters. Hence it's easy for ineffective reps to continue. Philosophically you're correct, but term limits might help protect us from ourselves.

Totally. Must have taken the OP literally and went nuts.

Maybe so. There are plenty of stupid voters. But until we follow Plato's advice and appoint a philosopher king, who can decide better than the voters who will represent them?
Should we have a group of certified super-smart people to make their choices for them?
As for primaries and incumbents, there are many solutions to that. Write-ins, door-to-door campaigns, populist uprisings like the tea party, etc.
I hear you, but's it can be frustrating. Realistically,as you pointed out,the voters have spoken,so I shouldn't complain too hard. But,but,but...
