Best walkaround camera?

I hate "Pocket" cameras because they are to small to hold steady.
I need my reading glasses and a magnifying glass just to set up a Go Pro.
You might as well just use you Android or iPhone.
For me, it the best would probably be a Nikon D750.
I will be carrying a GH4 a 7-14 and 100-300 lens today to Pt Lobos or Carmel Beach.

Depends on what type of pictures you want to take. I for one have decided to stick with a smartphone of good quality. In my case, the Iphone 6 plus does 90% of the type of pictures I want to take for memory. It's not that I still don't like my Canon 7D and the set of lens that I've. It's that the iPhone is always with me, and that I don't suffer the problem of being lug down with all the weight. Especially when I travel overseas. No TSA (Airport) problems and Not having to watch my back because I'm carrying a nice camera as a tourist from America.

I guess than, you would definitely need bigger pockets

If money isn't a problem, get a shirt made with slightly larger pockets and buy Panasonic's LX 100.

Many very good ones ---- I use a Panasonic LUMIX ZS 40, have taken it a lot of places, rock climbing, cities, etc., it fits in my pocket, has a 30x zoom (60x dig for those you use it), I have blown up and printed very clear pics to 16x20....... All in all a great purchase.

The one I use is the Nikon 1 S-1 Mirror-less ! Image Quality is very good on the camera.

the smallest DSLR on the market is the Canon SLR1, which I got about a year ago. I still have it, but have added the Canon 7D. I still use the SLR1 on occasion because of its ease of use, small size, and great photo capabilities. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a starter DSLR.

A far cry from being pocketable. The issue with the sl1 is that it uses regular sized DSLR lenses, not engineered smaller ones like m4/3 which perform better than the sl1. The only pocketable m4/3 camera would be the gm1 or gm5 neither of which would I recommend for the op's question.

I have a Nikon L-20 that I have had for several years. Very happy with it. All of the Nikon Coolpix series do good work.
