I have been there before and it is certainly worth going. It is a very large display of almost every kind of steam/mechanical motion

I'll be there at least one of the two days, working and or photographing. I am hoping for a cloudy bright day. Direct sunlight and a black locomotive makes for bad conditions to get light modeling of shapes and details.

Well come on back, the place is open to look 363 days a year. Things run on Sat, Sun and holidays when we get enough volunteers to operate things. (except Christmas and Thanksgiving which are the two days we are closed)

Thanks Robert. I am up here in Washington (from Calif.) and am getting a little feeble to travel anymore. My experence with steam was not railroad but in the oil fields (Dad had 5 wells in Huntington beach. there were lots of steam (boiler) and pumps that I had to care for when I was a teenager...Yes, I did get burned.
