Took this last summer when I went back to visit family. Just learning PS and I think I made a good pic into a great pic.

A nice photo either way, though I actually like the people being in there. They help give me a sense of scale to the setting.

I never noticed the band in the bottom but now I remember. I didn't bring my tripod with me and used the stone wall to steady the camera and had it to far back on the wall. So I got some of the wall in the photo. The water was gray and murky anyway from a big rain the night before. Thank you all for the comments.

Both pictures are good. I prefer to have my landscape shots without the people (except maybe the wife). It just seems to give a better sense of isolation to some areas.

In general, when I take scenic photos, I like for them to be entirely free of man-made intrusions. Looking at your two versions of the same scene, however, I like the one WITH the people in it. I might like the photo better, if, you removed the people and the stairway with its railing. Hard to say definitively without seeing it that way.
