This was taken at a game farm. This Mountain Lion
had a link-chain leash around its neck. I had to find a position to hide the leash.
It is a shame to imprison a magnificent animal like a Mountain Lion.
Wildlife officials do an excellent job when protecting wild
animals; however, they must step in to rescue an orphaned
infant who would not survive very long without its mother.
Then, an organization becomes the mother. A mountain lion
is very elusive and you would not have seen it in the wild without much difficulty.
I have a question. Is a Mountain Lion and a Cougar the same animal?
Yes. We use both names here.

OK, thanks for the answer. We have one that lives in the subdivision and I had only heard it referred to as a Cougar. One of our friends son found where its "nest?" is. I've never seen it in the 13 years we have lived here. We had heard of it from different neighbors but never have seen it ourselves. Then a very good friend called to tell us that he had seen it when his 2 dogs ran after it. Thankfully the dogs came back home in the same shape they were in when they went after the Cougar. Then our son stayed with us for a few months and he saw it crossing the street when he was coming home from work. I sure do wish I could see it.
