Yeah, I'm with Gitzo on this one. I see them daily in the summer and never had an issue with any of them.

yes me to , here in Australia I find many snakes while walking in the bush even got the wife to stand still one day as one passed a few inches from her feet ( very venomous brown snake ) but like Gitzo would never kill one, but did shot it with the camera

Against the law in Tennessee to kill a snake of any kind, poisonous or not.

I think if I found a Rattle Snake in my back yard I would kill it.

I'm with you on this. With a garden and grandchildren, I wouldn't want such a snake as a possibility while reaching in the weed etc.
