Hello everyone, been following this site now for a couple of years but just signed up. I am in the marine industry and an amateur photographer with a deep love of nature and the sea (water). Lots of good information here to help me improve, looking forward to participating and getting some CC's on my photos.

Welcome to the Force...You have entered an addictive land of truths, myths, fantasies, ghosts, goblins and good old fashioned advice (whether you want it or not)...
Seriously though - the folks here have lots of good advice and a couple of days of experience and are willing share what they can - don't hesitate to ask detailed questions, in fact, the more details, the more accurate the answer ;)
A couple of links to help you
navigate the forum and some
resources to hopefully answer your questions or guide you in your quest...
Looking forward to seeing some photos.
Congrats on your "official member" status :) Hope you'll post some photos soon.
Welcome Capt. Stan. You have a beautiful region for photography and you are in a fun industry. I recently retired after spending my entire work career in the mArine industry-lots of fun but hard work also. We all look forward to seeing your picture posts and sharing ideas and information.

Welcome. I visit my daughter who lives in your State twice a year and enjoy all the photo ops you have You will find, as you probably have, that this site is alive with experienced photographers who love to share their knowledge.
Thanks for all the Welcomes everyone. Vermont is beautiful and offers many opportunities for a photographer. I will be posting during the next few weeks as I am off to a boat project. My self-imposed project criteria beginning in Dec. and to run for four months, was to only use in-camera manual setting with only my 18-70mm lenses and no post-production. I wanted to understand my 18-70mm lens better, (good, limitations, and work-arounds) and to improve my in-camera settings and composition. Having said no post-production, I am allowing myself to crop (limited view in viewfinder vs sensor) and WB, as my camera and my eye cannot agree. I am looking forward to insights and suggestions from this group.
