Great photos! Contrary to popular belief, they don't shoot quills. The quills stick and stay if you touch them.
I surprised a big one in Canada and it just slowly walked off. I had to grab my dog and keep her from checking it out. Thankfully no one was hurt.

See them out in the daylight quite frequently here in north central Pa, little buggers really raising hob with our old outhouse on our old farm, they are real wood chewrs.

Nice job and thanks for sharing. My wife and I did some camping this past summer in your neck of the woods to see Redwood National and ate at several places in your city.

Interesting shots, I didn't know porcupines are around your area, got to be rate to see one. I saw these a lot in Northern Ontario Canada.

Very nice series. I was with my daughters behind my shop one day when we came across one of these. It was more of a golden/brown. It was huge! I did not think they got that big. It was fun to watch. No camera at the time : (
