You must have hypnotized all the birds and animals in your area. They all pose for you so perfectly. Seriously, I wish I had your patience to wait for the exact moment to capture such gorgeous shots. I look forward to seeing more of your excellent eagle portraits.

Thank you, Flyerace. I don't have a lot of patience but I take a lot of photos with hopes that one of them is good. There are some photographers here that will spend all day waiting for the right moment to take that great shot. I am not one of those photographers.

Even with cropping, your detail is so crazy good!

I took some shots with my new tamron 150-600 today. My micro focus adjustments don't look good to me in real world use....back to the drawing board.

You're a real inspiration to me, Regis. Thank you for your posts.

Do you set your ISO, or let ISO auto?

Thank you very much, Fullframe. I set my ISO settings according to conditions. Since my camera is a Canon 6D, I don't have to worry about photo noise with the higher settings. Most of the time I put it into the program mode which controls different settings except for shutter and aperture which float. If I do any PP, it's only contrast and sharpness. I have my camera set internally at #6 sharpness setting which is extra sharp so all my photos come out sharp while using the Program mode.

Fantastic shots Regis. The only way to beat that eagle shot is to be there looking at him in person.
I counted 11 this past Saturday and all but one was over 700' away and the close one was behind tree limbs and left after a few seconds.

Thank you very much, Pam. Don't be jealous, your photos are awesome. I took a lot of eagle photos because the birds are leaving to migrate to the south, so I have enough until December when they will return again.

Thank you, huskyrider705. I only live about 11 miles from one of the best Bald Eagle observation areas in the country. Remember, they are here for only about 6 weeks, then they will migrate to the south. So, I try to take as many photos as I can while they are here. We are lucky to get as close as 100 feet which makes for good detailed photos.

Thanks Regis....send those eagles south to me. :)
I got a 150-600 for Christmas ...haven't had a chance to really
get to use it yet. Sure looks like you have mastered yours.

Pam,
After I got my Tamron 150-600mm about one year ago, it took me awhile to get use to it (about 2 days). I tested it on stationary objects and then wildlife. Then I tested it against my Sigma 50-500mm lens and found a good improvement with the faster focusing and the VC (vibration compensation) plus the extra lens coatings that help prevent glare, chromatic aberrations, etc. I have been in all kinds of weather with it, carrying the lens for many miles, etc. and it has held up spectacularly. Remember, it does have a 6 year warranty. If you look at my Bee, Butterfly shots and my moon shots plus my bird shots you will find a very versatile all-around lens that you can take hand held shots with. For $1069, you can't find a better 600mm lens.
As I mentioned before, my mother was born in Johnson City, Tennessee and I spent some vacations there and I did see a few Bald Eagles in the area. So, hopefully our Bald Eagles are heading your way. Keep watching.
