OK i am ready to do another cityscape..i want to get a shot of St. Louis..anybody know where to go that is safe to take cityscapes there?
Try the casino across the river, or you could take a ride up in the Gateway Arch. I had a neighbor that did an interesting wide angle shot from up there.
Thank u..I will check out the casino idea. I want the arch in it so I'll pass on going up in it. .. I'm kinda lost on what the other 2 replies are talking about. Maybe an inside joke. . Don't know. . Lol

You might also try some shots from the Chain of Rocks area to the North. On a clear day, you can easily see the city and it has the advantage of a different angle which includes the river. The Old Chain of Rocks Bridge is I believe open as part of a nature hiking trail. To the North of that there is also the Riverlands Audubon Center near across from Alton, IL and near the Alton Damn, which has a great selection of various waterfowl and migratory birds.
[OK great thank u....I did forget to mention I like doing the night time shots of the city scape

Also check on the tower near Hardin, Illinois which is part of the Lewis & Clark site, Camp Dubois as it may provide some interesting views. Again You will be North of the city at that point. I believe there is a small fee to go up in the tower.

From the Chain of Rocks Bridge? There is no way you can do a City Scape of St.Louis from that bridge, its a good four miles up river from downtown, and its closed before dark.
However there is an observation tower across the river in East St.Louis, the sign used say it opens at 5:30 a.m. Ha good luck I have never found it open before 7:00 a.m. Also this is not what I would call a safe area during daylight hours let alone at night.
All this said the view is beautiful at night but there are power lines in the way, a bunch of power lines.
Good luck, stay safe.
Frank
P.S. I have lived in and around St.Louis all my 75 yrs

ISS is the International Space Station, and U2 was a spy plane, I believe from the 60's.

If you are referring to the Confluence Tower which sits at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi rivers, that is HARTFORD, IL, not HARDIN. Hardin, IL is up on the Illinois River. The fee for going up in the tower is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Visits to the top are accompanied by a guide. There are three platforms at 50ft, 100ft and 150ft. You CAN see downtown St. Louis when the weather is clear, but it would not be much to photograph from there.
