Looking to buy an original Nikon power grip for my D7K. I have brought two knockoffs and non have worked and $250 is a bit steep for my pocket. So if anyone has one for a reasonable price would love to hear from you.
Nothing beats the real thing. Have seen them for as little as $229 online. I use one and its a great investment.

True. Even the crappy ones that I got prior to them not working felt nice. Saw that someone had one for sale for about $150. $229 still a little steep for me. My thee boys make it hard for me to advance on my gear. I'm lucky enough to have a D7K, D90, and my street camera D3100.

So how much are you willing to throw away on junk before you get a good one? Caution on the used, make sure they have the Nikon warranty papers, there are lots of countrfeit Chinese grips that say Nikon on them!

True. There's a saying in Spanish that my wify says to me all the time when I think I found a deal. Lo barato sale caro. Transaction, cheap stuff coast more. I think I learned my lesson. Wait and buy the good stuff or buy nothing.

I bought an after market grip for my D300 and years later it is still working flawlessly. So not all knock offs are crap.
True, I brought one for my D90, a zeikos and it also works well . I thought that I might have the same luck getting one for my D7000. But just keep getting junk. I'm thinking of taking a day trip.to the city and stopping by B&H and try the ones that they would have in the store. I would begin with the least expensive one and work my way up to what my budget is. So yes I do agree with you, not all are bad. Some do end up working well like the one I got for my D90.
