Well I am done with 2 countries so might as well share the other 2 with you too!
The next stop was Luang Prabang, Laos. As we flew in it was regretfully getting dark out as the landscape appeared to be gorgeous, just couldn't see it very well. Another beautiful hotel with rooms with teak floors and furniture, each had a small balcony looking out at a beautiful pool. They had a welcoming ceremony for us by some of the local people. We had some time in the morning to explore the grounds a bit before our busy day started.
this darling little girl gave us each a flower at the ceremony
the pool was beautiful
On a differeent side of the property from the pool were these amazing walkways connecting small villas you could also rent to sleep in
we all enjoyed the beautiful lotus flowers growing in the water
our bus took us into the jungle to an elephant camp where we were to have rides on them
as we arrived they were bringing the elephants up to the platfom for us to get on them. Rode 2 to each one except I was byself as the odd number! I was surprised to be in the jungle away from everything, but yet these guys with the elephants were on cell phones and seemed to be texting!
away we go
you could hand your camera to someone on the ground and they would get a picture for you. Anybody recognize my hat?
we walked along the edge of a river and in the river some too. To watch the animal in front of you climb up the bank was a little scary thinking you would be next. These are my cousins I went with
afterwards they lined the elephants up along the platform and you could buy bananas to feed them and another group arrived for rides

actually one of the new lady friends said I looked like the queen because I had my own elephant--I said if I was the queen I would have someone fanning me as it was very hot that morning.
