a new aquarium will open in auburn hills mi. 1/29/15, at the great lakes crossing mall. it will cost more than the zoo to enter.$23.50 per adult and $17.50 children. $54.00 for a one person yearly pass. $200.00 for a family of four pass. I called last month and we will be able to take pictures. at the zoo you could get a two person pass for $65.00. I think it's a little high, but i'll go anyway.
Pittsburgh Zoo is $70 for a membership, $12 for one day admission. Of course, the aquarium is included.
Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach CA, General Admission: Adult = $28.95, Child = $14.95, Senior = $25.95

Those days are long gone.
Sounds like about the same price as the Camden aquarium in NJ. You should get an annual pass. The first go around if you don't have photo experience will be making mistakes, the second time more mistakes thinking you are correcting your first time mistakes. You also don't have to rush around to see everything in one day. Lots of fun.
Going to put it on my list to see if in the area.

Some of the older animals can remember when they were free, too!
Now retired in FL but formerly from MI and know the Mall well. Please be sure to share your pic's when you take them.
Exciting! We love for people to take our picture!

The Cleveland Zoo no longer has an aquarium exhibit but the price is well worth it for a photographer. The rain forest and the butterfly house exhibits are a photo op dream.
There is a new (4-5 years) privately owned aquarium in downtown Cleveland. IMO, it is not worth the money. The tanks are designed with little or no attention to creating a natural environment feeling. Please be sure that your new one has not made the same mistake before you spend your money. Ours was billed as mimicking the superb one in Milwaukee. Having been to both I can tell you that this is not true. The one in Milwaukee is awesome.
May I suggest that you take your money, hop in the car and take a one day trip, long day for you, to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Be sure to take plenty of memory cards. You will need them.

I'm fortunate to have the St. Louis Zoo within a half hour's drive, and admission has always been free. Special attractions such as the Sea Lion Show and the Children's Zoo have fees around $4.00.
Didn't the outdoor store always have a great fish tank that was free at Great Lakes?
The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans has an arch when you first go into it. I have found that I have to look at the floor while I go through it. The distortion causes me to get a migraine. Go figure. A few years ago we took the grands that live in NV to the Audubon Zoo, Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, Audubon Aquarium and Entergy IMAX Theater for $29.95 each person. Not a bad price to keep them busy for 3 full days. They wouldn't try eating the bugs at the Insectarium.
