Wow Blackest! You have done an awful lot of research and shared it here for all of us. Got a little technical at one point, but went to great lengths to try to help solve MY problem. I still have not been successful with my current collection of "stuff" (Canon 580EX and Sigma 500 EF Super, Wansen receivers and transmitter). A lot of interesting reading in your links & maybe the AC5 shield would solve the 580 interference problem. On the other hand, the V6 transceivers could work. The cost is an important factor. It may prove less expensive in the long run to buy a completely new set with the Yongnuo flashes & triggers. Being stubborn, I am gamboling with the purchase of a pair of Yongnuo RF 603C II. If they don't work, I'll return them and go ahead with the total Yn setup. Again, THANKS for all the help and time consuming research.

And that is all you will get from it.
It is also the only thing that will work on your 580ex.

What is the reason you need the RC flash ??
I get very good results with my 580ex and 430exII as slaves with an IR remote master.

I want to be able to use backlights or background lights that are hidden from IR direct view on occasions, like interior shots. The IR system does work well for a lot of purposes, but a matter of capability and choice, I suppose.

-Latest Report: Absolutely NO response with Wansen triggers.
I bought a pair of Yongnuo Rf 603 CII triggers that performed as advertised....right out of the box (after batteries added). They solved the problem with the canon 580 EX (reported radio interference) and the Sigma DG 500 Super. Both work great. SO it was the trigger that was the problem.
