How about opinions on these two photographs. I am having a trying time picking on over the other. Maybe the two could be printed and displayed together. Never done anything like that before.

In this case, I prefer the IR. It doesn't always work, but it sure does here. The BW image could use some work, but still nice.

I'm prepping my 50D to send to LifePixels for IR conversion.

I like the converted IR camera better than the film version for the simple reason that there is no hassle with filters, loading of film and processing. The only thing I do miss is the bounce back from the pressure plate when using Kodak HIE100. That was a marvelous effect. Made possible by a lack of an anti-halation coating on the back of the film.

I will attach the original color shot for those interested. Who knows - maybe it's the best of them

The two black and white versions are different enough that you don't need to pick one over the other - they can both coexist. I find the original color version a bit too over-saturated; the extreme saturation overwhelms the subject.

It's a little much. I don't think I really care for it in color - no matter what. Attached is the earliest version I can find. Don't know what the rosey hue is above the horizon. Could be something in the atmosphere like dust - or maybe it's a fault of mine in processing.

This is the one I used to make the B/W. A comparison will show the changes I made in the perspective.

Maybe a trip-tych? What if you put a doggie walking along ...maybe with a kitty...or a lady and her cow?

OK Carla, that that is a good suggestion.

On second thought, I think it will probably end up in file 13. I have to have a show ready to hang in July and I have no idea what to put on the walls. I don't think this will be one of them.
Such decisions were much easier when working with film.

Thanks for your good matured suggestion, Carla. Puts a great perspective on it.

You are welcome. It just seemed winsome to me, and IR always puts me in another world. And thank you for calling me "mature". No one has ever used that word in association with my name.. That is a whole new thought for this year!

I am sure you are quite mature. Maybe not in the anatomical sense of the word - judging from your avatar - but mind-wise.

Please pardon the typo. "m" was supposed to be an "n". That's what I get for not checking my spelling before posting.
