Effrant, I like what your "bi-line" says:
"All lies in jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear, and disregards the rest"...Paul Simon

Your comment on competition is right on and that is why we have such great equipment now.

I know Sony wasn't mentioned, but Sony put IS in the body.

I am sticking with my Canon.

That was a GREAT marketing idea in my opinion......to make your lenses easily identifiable from a distance. What a great advertising that is. Of course, the "L" series lenses are about as good as you can get.

These "debates" prove nothing but self-confirm that one made that "right" choice. Both make fine cameras-- why not leave it at that?

And also Sony, Pentax, Leica, et. al......

It's the nature of the product wars. Every week or so, somebody will ask an honest question about various cameras/optics. It always ends up like now. I believe some of us are actually looking for an honest answer and don't mean to "Poke the hornets nest" on purpose. There are others here that like to rile some people up, but you'll learn to ignore those carbon-based units. I'm sure you'll figure out who is whom. 8-)

Yea, those folks are despicable Doc ..... let me know who they are ..... ha,ha,ha,ha

Yes you are right, Canon owners only wish the sensors were APS-C made by Sony.

APC You say. Caveman technology. APS-H and full frame are the only way canon people need to go.
