I was a Medical Photographer for many years. It was pre-digital and all black and white. Are there any medical photogs on UHH ??

Classifieds is not the category to post this question in, it is for selling, or buying, photo gear.

I don't know if people would want their medical photos posted for the world to see. I wouldn't. I'm surprised there isn't a prohibition against that.
Never did it, but it sounds very interesting.

I have not, however, I know dentists who have purchased the "dental" kits that are available for many DSLRs. What area of medical photography are you interested in?
Not interested in posting photos. I have been away from the field for a while and am interested in how the field has changed and what is considered 'state of the art. In my own practice I made some films, photographed in surgery and before and after for plastic surgeons.

My doctor used to have film cameras. Now it's all digital - immediate results.

Dentists are known to utilize macro photography just to get better views of their client's gums. I can envision extending a MP-E 65mm deep into the recesses of a stranger's mouth. On second thought, maybe I better stick to folks I know, let the strangers find somebody else to explore their pie-holes. Might turn out a nice 40"x60"!
Digital photgraphy was a real game changer for me. I was all about custom B&W printing for publications, VHS killed the movies (16 mm) too.
I worked at a university health sciences center for about 15 years. I had lots of experience with surgery and other biomedical photography documentation for research. Went to several BP of A (Biological Photographers of America) seminars.
I remember using Technical Pan film a lot. It was so versatile!
The standard digital dental photography set up these days is a 60mm (for APS-C) or 90-100 mm macro and a ringlight or ring/point light.
Canon makes a great one, the MR 14-EX and Metz has the 15 MS-1 that can be used on any camera (but works best on a camera with commander mode).
Lester Dine, the inventor of the ring light, is still in business.
Knowing the legal profession, I would bet that there is an association out there for plastic surgeons (since that is what you did), that, on advice of counsel created standards for photography that cover lighting, mandatory shots for certian procedures, etc... I would think that other medical fields would also have this.
Wait...
a google search on the term combination 'plastic surgeons photograhy standards' yields quite a bit and the first hit is a pdf titled "Photographic Standards in Plastic Surgery"

Yes, we have a veterinary clinic.
It had been a challenge to adapt priciples of radiography, like positioning, to photography. Prior to the adoption of orthodoxy, photographers we urged to promote the surgeon by adapting favorable lighting, shadows, and other efforts to improve the "after" pictures. Adopting standards was necessary.

Just had some work done on my ear and nose (result of too much sun in my youth). I was surprised when the surgical assistant recorded the Doctors work with an I-Pad! Sufficient detail, et al. And recorded right in the patient file! I would guess that dentists and some others are still using real cameras with macro lenses, but they're not needed for "surface work".
