Can someone give me the steps to transfer photos from Picasa to Elements 10. For some reason Find in PS will not go there.

Right click on pic in picasa, that will open a menu box, scroll down and find open with....PE 10.....that will bring photo into the program.

I think you are asking to transfer a bunch of photos?

I'm not familiar with Picasa, but are the pics stored in a folder on your hard drive? If so, in the Elements organizer, go to
File > Get photos & video > from files & folders. Open the folder and select all (control + A) and import to the organizer.

Hope that helps!

This sounds like what most people ask for. It's not actually transferring images from one program to another, but just opening them from the program you want to use. I'd go with Hazel Meredith's suggestion.

Yes, since the images are stored on your hard drive and NOT in Elements, or CS, or Lightroom. Those are just organizers that direct the program to where the photos are stored.

:-)

So as a follow-up question. If I want to delete a program and add a different kind of program, I can delete a program without losing any pictures?

Yes that is correct. At least in the case of Photoshop or Lightroom. Your photos are not in the program, they are on your hard drive.

(But check your hard drive first to be sure that they are in folders that are not located within a program! There may be other programs that I do not know about that work differently!)

What you see in the Elements program are just thurbnails directions to your hard drive folder.
