I have an extensive Nikon system but this camera makes me think of my first real camera, a Nikon FM. I am so tempted by this Fugifilm camera but do not have a way to hold or try it as I am not near to a camera shop. Any hogs with hands on experience or thoughts would help my decision. Thanks

I have an X100. Absolutely amazing camera, you won't be disappointed. It's Fuji with a J by the way :)

I was sold when I first picked one up.
Had an X-E1 for a while and it was amazing.
Now I have an X100s and loving it.
It reminds me of the Leica M4 I used to use.
If you want the feel of a Nikon FM or FE you should look at the Nikon DF.

I take it you have not seen the Nikon Df, its Nikons "Retro" model and will use ANY Nikon F mount lens, yes, even the old pre-Ai lenses.

I have not seen or held it but I am very tempted by it. I may just need to go to Dallas or Austin and see the actual cameras. Thank you MT. Your posts are always so thoughtful and informative. Thanks

The downside to the DF is the attention it draws when you are out shooting an event. People are in awe that you are still shooting film when they see it. Then they are MORE in awe when they find out its really a digital!

Do you think there may be a Df 2 in the near future?

LOL
The D750 IS the Df II
Not much point in building a throwback, and then modernizing it. At least I don't think so.

Currently have the XE-1 w 18-55 f2.8 fast kit lens. It was amazing when I got it, and it still is.

Considering selling and moving to the XE-2 or TX-1. More amazing I hear. Particularly the TX-1.

As previously stated, If you want something that makes you think of your Nikon FM, consider the Nikon Df. Looks like, and has controls like a Nikon film camera with a D4 sensor.

Thanks. Guess I'm going to need to look at it seriously.
