Does anyone have the new Canon 7D MIII? What is your opinion. Do you feel that your photos have the same pop or close to it that a FF camera has. I want a camera that I can use for anything and like the features of this camera. I have a 40D with a 25-105 L & a 70-300L lenses now. Please show some of your pic's. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Maybe in 5 years or so, the 7D MkII was just released. ;)

Wayne, Do a search on the topic and you will find plenty here. I own the MkI, and ma pleased but the MkII rocks from what I have seen on this site. Gary

The Mk3 will be out soon enough and when it is everyone will have to "upgrade." Nikon is more famous for this than Canon as it seems that they come out with a new DSLR every few weeks or so, and when they do all Nikon users have to "upgrade." Expand your horizons and look at Sony, Olympus, Fuji, Panasonic, etc. They are making the cameras of the future. Canon and Nikon are making the future dinosaurs. I have the 7D Mk1 and am quite happy with it. I have only one lens on it and that is a Canon 400mm F5.6 prime. I would never consider buying the Mk2. I am currently making the transition to the mirrorless world and have no regrets.

"soon enough"?!? It took Canon five years to come out with the MK II.

I actually doubt there ever will be a MK III if current trends continue.

So far, I am well pleased with the high ISO performance of my Mk II. 3200 is a bit better than 800 on the Mk I. 800 was as far as I wanted to go on the older model. 6400 is a bit noisy but still better than the Mk I at 1200. Even 16000 is useable in certain circumstances.

I am not in a place where I can upload pictures but if you will click on my Flickr site, you will see some very recent ISO 3200 shots.

I haven't yet really taxed the AF system yet but it seems to work quite well. It will take a bit of leaning to understand all the additional controls.

Great photos on Flickr of the birds. You have a couple of birds in flight where it looks like their heads are upside down compared to their bodies. Explanation please.

what I like best is the shutter speed and the low light usage. in the past as the light dropped (high school football game) I would put away my 7d and use the 5dm3 only. Now I can keep the speed of the 7d with great low light performance. Only a few weeks into using and I love it. This will cut my full frame usage in half.

Those pictures are of terns that are shaking the water off their feathers after diving for fish. They were not taken with the Mk II.

Just read the review on KenRockwell.com (thanks for sharing), it was outstanding and well detailed.

As soon as I take care of Christmas gifts (bills), I am getting this camera. Made that decision when the camera first came out. I really had to control my G.A.S. until after Christmas. Now, I can let err rip.

Ok, thank. Not taken with the MkII, still some very nice pictures. This just proves that its not just the camera taking the great shots, its also the one holding the camera.

I have borrowed one from a friend. Briefly. Let’s just say…. I WANT THAT CAMERA!

It can handle anything, but, if sports or birds in flight are part of “anything” for you, you would love this camera. At that price point, nothing else comes close.
