Got "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson, from one daughter, and a SpeedLite 270exII for my T1i from another daughter. I was happy, as if it was the 7DII which is still only on my wish list.
Some things you just need to buy for yourself after Christmas is over. You deserve it.

I postponed getting a SonyA7 11 because I do not know the best lens for everyday and landscape shooting. I know the
Sony lens are limited. Any suggestions for a mid price range lens? I will continue to shoot with my Canon 7d but want a good lighter weight camera.
Use your Canon lenses with the Sony. All you need is an adapter. Some testing shows clearly that good Canon glass is even better on Sony than Canon.
I bought my own early Christmas present: Sony A77II with kit lenses 16-50mm and 55-300mm. I also got 2 other lenses, one for my right eye, and 4 days later, one for the left eye (cataract surgery). Happy shooting this coming New Year. :)

A B&H gift card which I cashed in on a Tamrac Sling Pack. Now I take my camera with lens attached, two additional lenses and my Speedlight. Now wherever I go I have the right lens and flash if needed.

I must have been a lot better than I thought I had as Santa brought me a mint Nikon D3 with less than 3,000 actuations, 2 C F cards and a nifty 50 to replace the only DX lens in my bag!
