Regis, I have been following your eagle series without making comments. However I wish to say they are superb. And of course these with the sun top off the series so far.
You give me something to strive for since I have the same body and lens. I just hope I get half as good.

Thank you, Robert. I'm sure you will do better than me someday. Just keep practicing. The sun really helps to bring out the color and detail.

Thank you, Jim. I could remove that branch from the eagle's face but I don't want to. I like to keep my photos as natural as can be.

Thank you, waltchilds. I always take my photos hand held. I am comfortable using this method.

One more quick question, how does this lens perform on cloudy low lit days. The reason I ask is, after seeing your shots today, I'm thinking about getting this lens for wild life.

Wow! Incredible pictures. How did you get the eagle to sit so long? Bought a 6D two months ago and have not had the opportunity to use it much. Reinforces my faith in the 6D's capability to take high quality pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Holidays.

Yesterday was the sunniest day we have had for awhile around here and I think I got more detail out of my photos. All 6 photos of the eagles were about 100 to 150 feet in distance and were shot using the 600mm setting.

 I enjoyed these.

Very impressive shots, Regis! The first in particular really shows that 'look of eagles.' Great work!

All my recent shots, except for these six eagle photos, were taken on cloudy days which turned out well. No problem with cloudy days for getting good shots, waltchilds.

Thank you, alfaman. The Canon 6D is a great camera for good resolution and combined with the Tamron 150-600mm lens makes for terrific detailed photos.
