Fabulous...what focusing mode do you use? I found a pair of nesting eagles but can only get to within 500 to 600 yards.

Just totally awesome! Birds are one of the hardest creatures to get great pictures of when they are in action! You did a terrific job! Thanks for posting ;-)

I use auto focusing. The D7000 will lock on focus and follow the subject as long as you keep it in the frame. I think it would be too difficult to manual focus. Time being the problem.

Great photos that show nature and tells a story. Not something that you can plan on capturing when you leave the house with your camera. Thanks for sharing.

Two mature eagles took over an Osprey nest from last year and had 2 eglets. The osprey returned early and was quite disturbed over finding his nest had been taken over.
The following are some of the action that took place while I was watching.
The osprey at first dove on the nest when only the eglets were present.
Then mom arrived and he continued to dive on her also.
After a lot of screaming, dad came to the rescue, only to find the osprey was not afraid of any of them.
This went on for 30 minutes before the osprey finally gave up.
I was fortunate to be there and get these shots and many more. It was once in a lifetime for me.
